Poetry Reading: Emily Dickinson in English and in Spanish Translation 12 July 8:00-9:00pm at the Real Alcázar, a royal palace, built for King Peter of Castile, on the site of an Abbadid Muslim alcazár, or residential fortress, first built in 913 and converted by Christian Castillians in the 14th century. It is a World Heritage Site, together with the adjoining Cathedral and Archivo General de Indias.
A reading of Dickinson’s poems featuring Antonio Rivero Taravillo (poet and translator); Rosa García Gutiérrez, Universidad de Huelva; María de los Ángeles Toda Iglesia (moderator), Universidad de Sevilla; and Karen Sánchez-Eppler, Amherst College, will read the poems in English.
